Swedish Financial Markets Committee

Summary of decision at Government meeting 7th May 2009

The Financial Markets Committee is appointed by the Government with the mission to provide a forum for dialogue and consultation on the financial sector conditions in order to promote stability, confidence and efficiency of development.

Under the Directives, the Committee shall

	promote a regular dialogue between the government and financial industry
	continuously monitor international developments
	discuss how the conditions for the financial sector in Sweden can be altered to promote stability and efficiency
	initiate and manage activities to develop the financial sector

According to the directives of the Financial Markets Committee there should also be a reference group. This will provide a forum for dialogue and exchange of experience through their collective skills as a valuable contribution to the committee in its work.

The work of the Committee shall be conducted during 2009-2012.
